We stayed at the RV Park for little over a month. The owners Mark & Francine purchased the park three years ago and are top notch! As are their two camp hosts, Craig & Laurie and Sharon & her hubby. All of them bend over backwards for you. All of the sites are pull-thrus which is insane and we thank them for having two dog parks! We didn’t use the showers but they are huge and spotless. I can swear by the laundry room from my use LOL and love that they have a washer dedicated for dog beds! We also refilled our propane onsite. They accept Amazon and all other packages! Dollar General and a restaurant bar with spirits are right next door which is perfect. We’ve eaten there twice.

Pride of ownership shines at Southern Hills! Beautiful, well-kept grounds and immaculate facilities. I am hard to impress when it comes to cleanliness and often find myself cleaning the washer before I use it... but Southern Hills blew me away!! I wanted to stay longer just for the laundry room! The staff are super helpful, friendly and always hard-at-work. You should be very proud of your little gem of a campground! Thank you for providing a safe, clean stay for our family!

We greatly enjoy this RV Park, and appreciate the Super Sized sites for our Big Rig. The Owners and Hosts are marvelous people! Being directly on SD-79 Hwy makes it easy to get to places in the area.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved every single day. The camp hosts are Craig and Laurie-they are SUPER nice. And the owners are Mark and Francine. They are also VERY nice. Their whole goal is to make sure you are just as happy when you depart as you are when you arrive. The location of the park is central to Keystone, Hill City, Custer, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Rapid City. Deadwood and Sturgis are about 1 hour drive. You really can’t go wrong with this RV park. I can’t speak about the laundry facility as we didn’t need it. If you’re looking for a “resort” type of facility, this is not for you. If you’re looking for a place that offers peace, tranquility, and access to outdoor activities, you absolutely cannot go wrong here. This RV park is one we would look to stay at again. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.

The management here is awesome. These people are very friendly. The lots are gravel and level and plenty of room in between. The restrooms and laundry room is very clean. Easy access to the highway and close to many of the things to see and do in the area.

We simply needed a place for the night after visiting Crazy Horse and Custer SP. What we got was a very nice campground with very friendly staff, clean modern bathrooms and showers, and clean laundry facilities. We were also able to refill our propane at a reasonable price. Nice bar & grill next door, too.

This small RV park accommodates both small and large RVs. 30/50 amp, wifi, electricity, laundry room, shower room and 2 dog parks. Reasonable prices and the owners are absolutely wonderful.

We stayed here in our travels thru South Dakota. The rv park was great and our site was very level and clean. We also used the laundry facility. It was very clean and decorated very cute inside. They did a great job making it feel like home for travelers. The staff was top notch and so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back if ever going thru this area again.

All we use is full hookups. No need for a pool. This park is at a lower altitude than up in the hill. It is central east side of the Black Hill. It seems like you can be anywhere in the hill in an hour. Nice clean well maintained park. Dollar general and Lazy R Bar & Grill in walking distance.

We stayed at Southern Hills for four nights, while we visited nearby Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Fort Hayes movie site, and the Crazy Horse memorial. It is the perfect jumping off point for those four attractions. Southern Hills is right off of South Dakota route 79 with easy access for all sizes of RVs. Just up the highway is a full service fuel stop with easy access to truck diesel pumps as well as regular gas pumps. As you exit route 79 into the park, there is a Dollar General plus a bar and grill just off to your right. Twenty minutes away is a Walmart and other shopping. The RV sites at Southern Hills are wide and long with plenty of space for your rig and tow or towed vehicle. The park is all gravel but our site was level and we had no issues. The couple who manage the park were very friendly and helpful, as were the workers we encountered during our stay. We did not use the shower house but my wife used the laundry. The washers and dryers all worked perfectly and there's even a separate machine for washing pet related items. Her only complaint was the lack of air conditioning in the laundry. With the machines running it was like sitting in a sauna. The park was peaceful and quiet while we were there and everyone seemed respectful of the other residents. If we're ever back in the Hermosa area, Southern Hills RV Park will be our preferred place to stay.

Wonderful campground. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. The spots are large. Some have grass next to them. Some are all gravel. Good news is that the gravel is compacted and does not dirty up your rig. We also appreciated that the park was not super large. Several others in the area were crammed full of people. We prefer the peace! The managers were friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door is so good that we ate there several times. All in all, a great 2 weeks.
